P-OCKET OTN Mappers provide efficient OTN mapping and framing of packet data for transport over telecommunication networks.
P-OCKET Mappers provide full feature set solutions with the ability to adapt and customize to accomodate proprietary platform requirements.

P-OCKET is a complete family of OTN devices that enables the lowest possible software development costs for TPACK’s customers by re-using software across the complete range of bandwidths.

The following is a list of currently available P-OCKET OTN Mapper Products:

  •  G.709 OTN Mapper and ADM on a single chip
  •  Support for ODU0 and ODU1
  •  2 x OTU1 line interfaces
  •  4 x any rate client interfaces

TPO124 10 Gbps OTN Mapper
  •  G.709 OTN mapping and framing
  •  Support for ODU0, ODUflex, ODU1, and ODU2
  •  Highly flexible, any rate and any protocol client ports
  •  Built-in ODU ADM for efficient networking

TPO314 40 Gbps OTN Mapper
  •  OTU3 interface (ITU-T G. 709)
  •  4 x 10 Gbps any protocol client ports
  •  Built-in ODU ADM for efficient networking

The P-OCKET Mappers from TPACK range in bandwidth from 2.5 Gbps to 100 Gbps and cover applications from Muxponders to large OTN Cross Connects. The P-OCKET devices are designed to meet all your needs for building OTN networking equipment that eliminates the need for SONET/SDH as intermediate transport layer. It maps any client type and rate into right-sized ODU-containers by an adaptable ODU mechanism including mapping of Gigabit Ethernet into ODU0. Furthermore, P-OCKET supports both ODU0, ODUflex, ODU1, ODU2, and ODU3 connectivity and protection switching through advanced built-in lower order ODU cross connects.

The P-OCKET Mappers support flexible mixing of TDM clients, such as STM-1/4/16 / OC-3/12/48 and packet clients, such as Ethernet and Fibre Channel.

A built-in ODU ADM provides efficient means for performing the same type of Add-Drop and protection functionality on the ODU-level as you would normally find in a traditional SONET/SDH Add-Drop MUX at the Virtual Container (VCn)-level.
